James M. Scheiman, MD, is the gastroenterology and hepatology chief at the Charlottesville-based University of Virginia Health System.
Before joining UVA Health System, Dr. Scheiman was director of the Ann Arbor-based University of Michigan's Advanced Endoscopy Training Program and served in the gastroenterology division for over 30 years.
Dr. Scheiman helped establish the University of Michigan's Multidisciplinary Pancreatic Cancer Destination Program, where his research centered on the early diagnosis of pancreatic cancer.
He earned his medical degree and completed his internship, residency and fellowship at the University of Michigan.
