Baton Rouge General, in Louisiana, entered into an agreement with Gastroenterology Associates for the group to provide GI services at the hospital, The Advocate reports.

1. Gastroenterology Associates will begin providing services at the hospital Jan. 9.
2. The decision to seek outside providers is part of the hospital's master plan to improve quality of care and patient outcomes.
3. The agreements are becoming commonplace throughout the U.S., the hospital's Chief Clinical Transformation Officer Kenny Cole, MD, said.
