Gastroenterologist Swaroop Pendyala, MD, has joined Gastroenterology Consultants based in Carson City, Nev., according to a news release.
Dr. Pendyala specializes in gastroenterology and has a special interest in the diagnosis and treatment of esophageal disorders such as GERD, IBS, IBD and liver diseases including hepatitis C and NAFLD. His research interests include obesity and its related GI complications.
Dr. Pendyala comes to the practice after completing a fellowship in gastroenterology at Columbia University in New York. He received his medical education and completed his first year of residency training at the Christian Medical College in Vellore, India. He completed his second and third year of residency at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston and Columbia University.
Dr. Pendyala will work out of the practice's Carson City office. Gastroenterology Consultants has three other Nevada locations: two in Reno and one in Gardnerville.
