Gastroenterologist Roger Epstein, MD, has written a column discussing hepatitis C for Seacoast Online, which includes content from several New Hampshire and a Maine publication.
Dr. Epstein practices out of Gastroenterology Professional Association, which has offices in Somersworth, Portsmouth and Hampton, N.H.
In the column, Dr. Epstein notes the increased interest in the virus due to recent trends and developments surrounding hepatitis C, including a local outbreak at a nearby hospital and the recent CDC recommendation that all baby boomers be tested for the virus. He then goes on to discuss the different types of the virus and the available treatments for hepatitis C.
Dr. Epstein received his MD from Boston University School of Medicine, completed his internship and residency at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Boston and obtained his fellowship in gastroenterology and hepatology nutrition at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Boston, according to his bio.
