FUJIFILM brings on 2 new executives: 5 things to know

FUJIFILM named two new executives to the leadership team.

Johann Fernando, PhD, was named the chief operating officer and Diku Mandavia, MD, was named the chief medical officer. Here are five things to know about them:

1. Mr. Fernando will provide day-to-day leadership and management for sales, medical informatics and modality solutions divisions, business operations and service. He'll also lead efforts to expand the company's healthcare IT business and drive business unit collaboration.

2. Mr. Fernando has experience as vice president and general manager for Accuray with increased awareness and visibility among key opinion leaders.

3. Dr. Diku will be CMO for FUJIFILM Medical Systems U.S.A. and FUJIFILM SonoSite. He'll provide strategic leadership for the healthcare portfolio efforts by overseeing the activities related to patient care, medical professional networking and health systems interaction.

4. Dr. Diku has experience as a medical advisor for FUJIFILM SonoSite and is a clinical associate professor of emergency medicine at the University of Southern California. He is a founding member and past chair of the ACEP Ultrasound Section.

5. Mr. Fernando earned his MBA from Case Western Reserve University and PhD in radiology imaging from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center. Dr. Diku earned his medical degree from Memorial University in Canada and is a graduate of the Stanford Executive Program.
