invendo medical announced the FDA approved its SC20 single-use colonoscope as part of the company's C20 colonoscopy system.
The SC20 is a single-use colonoscope with a working channel and is not pushed or pulled but relies on a computer-assisted technology to move. This reduces force on the colon wall. All endoscopic functions of the colonoscope are performed using a handheld device. A clinical trial found a 98 percent cecal intubation rate with lesions detected in 41 percent of subjects.
