EndoChoice launches the Lumos imaging software system: 4 takeaways

EndoChoice's Lumos received FDA clearance and was recently launched in the United States.

Here are four takeaways:

1. The imaging software system will be a part of the EndoChoice's Generation 3 Fuse Full Spectrum Endoscopy System.

2. The Lumos system is based on adaptive matrix imaging, which analyzes and selectively enhances abnormal tissue's  vascularity, surface texture and color.

3. Lumos can toggle between two settings — the first enhances tissue and may remain on throughout the procedure, while the second allows for a more in-depth inspection once surgeons identify abnormal tissue.

4. EndoChoice launched Lumos in certain international markets in February.
