The Journal of Investigative Medicine named Richard McCallum, MD, editor-in-chief, the El Paso Herald-Post reports.

1. Dr. McCallum is a professor at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center El Paso.
2. He currently serves as a gastroenterology specialist and directs Texas Tech's Center for Neurogastroenterology and GI Motility.
3. This is Dr. McCallum's second head journal leadership position, as he also serves as the editor-in-chief of Gastrointestinal Disorders.
"One of my goals for the journal is to be more personable and hands-on, while continuing to produce quality articles and improve impact factor," said Dr. McCallum.
