Dr. Monina Pascua on driving passion in gastroenterology

While gastroenterologists focus on providing care to patients, many have several other tasks at their practices daily, including improving coworker morale and enhancing the patient experience.

Monina Pascua, MD, a gastroenterologist and clinical medical director at the Oregon Clinic in Tualatin and chair of the TOC Quality Committee, told Becker's that one of the best parts of her job is driving passion in those around her.

Question: What is the best part about your job?

Dr. Monina Pascua: The best part of my job is drive — driving passion in the people I work with to deliver exceptional patient care. As medical director of my clinic and chair of my organization’s quality program, I have the opportunity to inspire and engage staff and colleagues towards improving the patient experience, lowering healthcare costs and reducing burnout, which I then get to see translated into delivering high-quality outcomes for our patients.
