Almac Creates Test to Predict Likelihood of Colon Cancer Recurring

A report outlining Almac Diagnostic's new prognostic test to determine the risk of colon cancer recurrence was published in the online version of the Journal of Clinical Oncology.

The test included 73 patients with recurrent disease and 142 patients with no recurrence within 5 years of surgery. Researchers developed a gene signature, and in tests, the signature identified high-risk patients with a hazard ration of 2.62.
