Gastroenterologist Charles Casale, MD, is joining the Albany (N.Y.) Medical Center's Community Division of Gastroenterology, The Altamont Enterprise reports.

1. Dr. Casale is a fellowship-trained gastroenterologist. He treats a full range of GI diseases and disorders.
2. His career began after he earned his medical degree from Belgium's University of Antwerp. He completed a residency at the Waterbury Medical Center and a fellowship at the Hospital of Saint Raphael, both in New Haven, Conn.
3. Dr. Casale is a touted lecturer and researcher. He has been a clinical investigator on research about hepatitis B and irritable bowel syndrome.
