5 things to know about US Endoscopy Group

Mentor, Ohio-based US Endoscopy develops gastroenterology product solutions.

Here are five things to know.

1. US Endoscopy is a subsidiary of Steris Corporation, which provides healthcare and life science product and service solutions.

2. US Endoscopy employs over 400 people, with a partner network spanning more than 50 countries.

3. In April 2017, the company acquired Genii, a medical device manufacturer specializing in electrosurgery products and GI endoscopy procedure accessories. Genii's proprietary offerings include the gi4000 electrosurgery unit, a compact unit with integrated Argon coagulation, monopolar, bipolar and lavage capabilities. Genii's portfolio also includes the Touchsoft Coagulator monopolar probe, ArC Smart argon probes, ArConnect argon probe connector, Gonogo active cord tester, disposable argon canisters and other accessories.

4. US Endoscopy offers a variety of single-use VIA procedure kits to help standardize infection control practices, minimize cross-contamination and simplify procedure room setup.

5. In 2017, US Endoscopy partnered with Santa Clara, Calif.-based Microfabrica to produce the first submillimeter biopsy forceps, primarily for use in pancreatic cancer treatments.
