1. The company's proprietary EsophyX fastener delivery system is designed to reconstruct the gastroesophageal valve and prevent stomach acid refluxing back into the esophagus.
2. The EsophyX is used to perform the transoral incisionless fundoplication procedure, a surgical solution that does not require external incisions through the skin.
3. The TIF procedure is designed to restore the angle at which the esophagus enters the stomach and to increase the pressure of the lower esophageal sphincter to prevent reflux and restore one-way valve operation.
4. In February, EndoGastric Solutions published five-year follow-up data on the effectiveness of TIF 2.0 procedures in controlling gastroesophageal reflux disease symptoms, the longest available follow-up data from randomized controlled trials concerning the TIF 2.0 procedure.
