Digestive Disease Week 2014 kicks off tomorrow in Chicago and will run through May 6. Here are five highlights, of many, to look out for during the meeting.
ASGE-AGA to Hold Joint Presidential Session – Anil Rustgi, MD, AGAF, president of the American Gastroenterological Association, and Kenneth Wang, MD, FASGE, will lead the joint ASGE-AGA Presidential Plenary Session on May 4.
AGA and ASGE to Present on Endoscopic Imaging Advances – The two GI societies will present the joint session "AGA/ASGE Advances in Endoscopic Imaging: Shedding a New Light" on May 6. The session will include oral abstracts on developments in endoscopy, according to a Medpage Today report.
Clinical Late-Breaking Abstract Session to Cover Advances in GI Treatment – This session, held on May 6, will cover a new gastroparetic drug, fecal microbiota transplantation and a new oral peptide that regulates tight junctions, according to a Medscape report.
DDW to Host International Panel on Radiofrequency for GERD – On May 5, Mederi Therapeutics is sponsoring an international panel on radiofrequency for GERD. Physicians from the United States, Belgium, Italy, Saudi Arabia and Italy will participate.
FUJIFILM Medical Systems to Present Endoscopy Portfolio – The endoscopy division of FUJIFILM Medical Systems will hold three presentations during DDW. FUJIFILM will offer a preview of its 600 series endoscopes with CMOS technology, a first for the U.S. market.
