The Society for Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions stated its support of state representatives reintroducing the Improving Seniors' Timely Access to Care Act of 2021, the organization said May 24.
The bill would provide oversight of Medicare Advantage plans and improve the prior authorization process. Previous legislation was first introduced during the 116th Congress in 2019 and was reintroduced by Suzan DelBene, D-Wash., Mike Kelly, R-Pa., Ami Bera, MD, D-Calif., and Larry Bucshon, MD, R-Ind.
SCAI's statement echoes other organizations that are a part of the Regulatory Relief Coalition, which aims to reduce Medicare burdens.
