A Merritt Hawkins survey found providers spanning the nation are split over their views on President-elect Donald Trump's pick of Tom Price, MD, as secretary of HHS.
Merritt polled 1,094 physicians for the survey.
Here are four points:
1. Slightly less than half (46 percent) of providers reported feeling generally positive about Dr. Price.
2. Forty-two percent of physicians felt generally negative about the HHS selection.
3. Only 12 percent of providers reported being neutral.
4. Forty-six percent of physicians reported Dr. Price could improve medical practice conditions for providers, while 34 percent said Dr. Price would worsen conditions if his position is confirmed as HHS secretary. Twenty percent reported feeling neutral.
