How to adapt to the changing consumer — A CEO's 3 insights

Lynn O'Connor Vos, CEO of Greyhealth Group, discussed what women and millennials want from healthcare at the second annual MM&M Transforming Healthcare conference.

GreyHealth Group is a global communications agency that specializes in healthcare communications.

Here are three insights on how providers can adapt to these consumers.

1. Make care relevant. Most millennials want to have the option to consult with a physician on their smartphone. Often, this generation will forgo care if a physician is not willing to use technology for their care.

2. Women are the decision makers. Women are increasingly becoming the chief health officers of the home. Women make 94 percent of decisions for themselves and 59 percent of decisions for others.

3. Facilitate trust. GreyHealth group partners with the Task Force for Talent to better understand women's decision-making habits and trust levels. Their findings indicated women have minimal trust in physicians. This trust, in part, may be due to the complex nature of healthcare. Therefore, better communication will work to facilitate trust.
