Clinton's attack on Sanders: Valid or a political play?

At a campaign event in St. Louis, Hillary Clinton claimed Sen. Bernie Sanders did not fight with her in the nineties against insurance and drug companies, according to the Huffington Post. Ms. Clinton has repeatedly said if elected president, she would work to dismantle the powerful pharmaceutical companies.

In response to Ms. Clinton's claim regarding his absence, Sen. Sanders said, "I think we have a photograph out there somewhere of me standing literally right next to Hillary Clinton in her efforts to bring healthcare reform back in the 1990s. So, what she's saying is not entirely accurate."

The photo to which Sen. Sander's is referring is a political event in New Hampshire where the candidates both appeared to promote healthcare reform. At the event, Ms. Clinton commended Sen. Sanders on his reform work, and later wrote him a thank-you note.

The two Democratic candidates have been at odds on healthcare, as Ms. Clinton claims Sen. Sanders seeks to "dismantle" the ACA, which would serve as a major blow to the Democratic Party. Sen. Sanders counters his healthcare proposal would create a single government run-program, which would build on President Obama's plan.
