Advanced Medical Group joins National Spine & Pain Centers
Pinehurst, N.C.-based Advanced Medical Group has joined Rockville, Md.-based National Spine & Pain Centers, expanding National Spine's pain management practice portfolio. As a result of the partnership, NSPC now has 91 physicians and 96 nurse practitioners and physician assistants in its network of more than 70 U.S.-based facilities.

Mount Sinai Health System opens new Florida medical practice
New York City-based Mount Sinai Health System opened Mount Sinai Doctors Palm Beach (Fla.) focused on bringing primary care, cardiology, gastroenterology and ophthalmology services to the area. The expansion is part of Mount Sinai's attempt to grow its national healthcare presence.

New Jersey ASC rebranded as Azura Surgery Center Cherry Hill
Malvern, Pa.-based Azura Vascular Care rebranded Cherry Hill-based American Access Care of New Jersey as Azura Surgery Center Cherry Hill after partnering with the center.

The American Association for Accreditation of Ambulatory Surgery Facilities partnered with Nebula Data Intel, which provides specialty specific medical data generated by participating outpatient surgical centers.

Healthcare-related lobbying hits $555M in 2017
Healthcare lobbying spending consistently outpaces other sector-related lobbying year after year, and in 2017, the healthcare lobby spent $555 million. The second closest industry was the finance, insurance and real estate lobby, which spent $517 million.

Illinois company acquires 29k-sq-ft medical office building with ASC
Downers Grove, Ill. -based Inland Real Estate Acquisitions purchased a 29,702-square-foot medical office building in Salt Lake City that houses Eye Institute of Utah as well as SurgiCare Center of Utah.

New CAIP ASC infection prevention credential
The Board of Ambulatory Surgery Certification recently launched its new ASC credential, Certified Ambulatory Infection Preventionist. It is the first certification designed specifically for infection preventionists in the ASC setting.
