Eye Care Surgery Center alerts 2,553 patients about stolen laptop
Baton Rouge, La.-based Eye Care Surgery Center discovered a laptop potentially storing patient information was stolen. The ASC became aware of the theft Feb. 26 and submitted the breach to HHS April 27.
Live Oak Surgery Center opens in Texas
Plano, Texas-based Children's Health opened Specialty Center 2, which includes the Live Oak Surgery Center, also in Plano. Specialty Center 2 also houses the Children's Health Andrews Institute for Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine and Sports Performance, an imaging center and physician clinics.
4 optometry, ophthalmology providers merging to form $10M facility
Four Bloomington-Normal, Ill., eye care providers are merging to form a new $10 facility. All optometrists and ophthalmologists at Eye Surgical Associates, McLean County Eye Center, Central Illinois Eye Care and Eyecare Associates will continue at the as-of-yet unnamed merged practice, which will employ about 90 people.
