7 Do's & Don'ts of Social Media

In an Inside Healthcare report, Derek Newell, CEO of Jiff, a mobile health start-up, discusses the importance of social media usage as well as what the healthcare industry should and shouldn't do when using social media.

Here are four do's and three don'ts:

Do:

1. Build connections and community.
2. Participate in ongoing discussions and collaborate.
3. Determine the best social media platforms and only use those.
4. Have a social media policy in place.

Don't:

1. Be overly promotional.
2. Disregard etiquette and professionalism.
3. Forget privacy.
