Veterans Affairs has begun clearing land designated for a new veterans clinic, the Eugene (Ore.) Health Care Center, a 100,000-square-foot facility which will offer a full range of services, including ambulatory surgery, according to a report from the Register-Guard.
Congress approved funding for the clinic in early 2009. The clinic will allow veterans to receive care closer to home, rather than having to travel to VA locations in Roseburg or Portland, according to the report. Construction will begin May 28.
