The University of Rochester (N.Y.) Medical Center plans to file certificates of need with the state's health department for the construction of an ambulatory surgery center and free-standing emergency room, according to a Democrat and Chronicle report.
URMC recently purchased Lakeside Memorial Hospital in Brockport, N.Y., and has filed a certificate of need for the conversion of Lakeside into extension clinics.
URMC intends to file certificates of need for the ASC and ER by the end of the year. The site of the ambulatory surgery center and freestanding ER will be named Strong West.
