UC Davis Medical Center in Sacramento, Calif., opened a children's surgery center, according to Medical Construction & Design.
What you should know:
1. The 20,000-square-foot surgery center is the first step in a multiphase development plan.
2. It was relocated to the Surgery and Emergency Services Pavilion from another hospital wing, which is being vacated for future demolition.
3. The surgery center occupies two floors and houses six new operating rooms.
