Here are three recent joint ventures making waves in the world of ASCs:
1. In August, the Munson (Mich.) Healthcare Cadillac Hospital's board of directors approved the development of two new joint venture ASCs in Cadillac and Gaylord, Mich. In 2023, Munson Healthcare revealed a three-year plan to provide better patient access to healthcare across the region that included the addition of more outpatient centers.
2. Atlas Healthcare Partners and Tacoma, Wash.-based MultiCare Health System announced in July they would partner on a joint venture ASC network in the Pacific Northwest.
3. A joint venture between Healthcare Realty Trust and private equity firm KKR hit nearly $500 million in August after a $118 million contribution from the Healthcare Realty Trust. The joint venture is "continuing to explore additional acquisitions," which could include more Healthcare Realty Trust properties. Their additional asset sales could increase the proceeds of the deal to nearly $1 billion.
