Center for Day Surgery wants permission to add surgical specialties on an as-needed basis, according to a document filed by the Tennessee Health Services and Development Agency.
Five key notes:
1. Center for Day Surgery asked the agency to remove a specialty limitation condition.
2. The change would allow the Tullahoma, Tenn.-based practice to add surgical specialties to its existing ambulatory surgical treatment center for an estimated $115,000.
3. The ASTC in question has one operating room and is wholly owned by Jeffrey B. Marvel, MD.
4. Ambulatory Surgical Associates, a recruiting and placement firm, and Tullahoma-based Tennova Healthcare-Harton are opposed to the change.
5. The application is pending state approval.
