Surgical Management Professionals, a company with more than 25 years of experience managing and developing ambulatory surgery centers and physician-owned hospitals, recently purchased interest in Ashtabula (Ohio) Surgery Center, according to a release.
"Ashtabula Surgery Center is a great facility that provides exceptional care, utilizing the latest technology and procedures while focusing on the personalized needs of their patients," said Michael Lipomi, president and CEO of SMP.
In recent months, SMP has launched new service lines, including physician billing and a new coordinated purchasing program that saves thousands of dollars for its facilities. Ashtabula Surgery Center is a multi-specialty surgery center that offers orthopedics, ophthalmology, pain management, podiatry and chiropractic services.
The center is a 5,200-square-foot facility with two operating rooms, one procedure room, 14 credentialed physicians, five credentialed CRNAs and 15 employees. The center currently holds a three-year accreditation through the AAAHC.
