Private equity firm creates ophthalmology practice management services organization, acquires 3 practices — 4 insights

LLR Partners formed Eye Health America — an ophthalmology practice management services organization — and acquired two ophthalmology practices and an ASC.

Here's what you should know.

1. Eye Health America acquired Bradenton, Fla.-based The Eye Associates, Clemson (S.C.) Eye and Greenville, S.C.-based Piedmont Surgery Center.

2. The organization tapped Red Roeser to serve as CEO. He most recently served as CEO of Atlanta-based Thomas Eye Group.

3. Eye Health America will provide the centers access to additional management and administrative resources as well as access to health system contacts and technology.

4. All three centers will continue to operate under their respective brands. The acquisition will have no effect on patient service.

The Eye Associates President John Swencki said, "We decided to partner with Eye Health America for their expert knowledge and support, and we look forward to expanding our range of services and convenient locations. Our existing management team, staff and doctors will continue to serve our patients with the same quality of comprehensive eye care that they have come to expect."
