Tampa, Fla.-based Physician Partners of America acquired an outpatient surgery center in Fullerton, Calif.

Five things to know:

1. PPOA acquired Alliance Surgical Center as its first center in California. The two-operating room ASC treats all types of pain and is the company's ninth surgery center.

2. This acquisition also includes the Regional Pain Treatment Medical Center, an interventional pain management clinic in Fullerton. The 8,197 square-foot building includes seven exam rooms and treats personal injury and workers compensation cases. PPOA now has 29 pain centers in Florida, Texas and California.

3. NAI Capital's Steve Body brokered the deal and Century 21 Commercial owner Christopher Angelo assisted PPOA in the transaction.

4. In August, Illinois-based pain management physician Howard Dedes, MD, will join the new clinic.

5. Earlier this year, PPOA added several former Tampa, Fla.-based Laser Spine Institute physicians to its group after Laser Spine closed its doors.
