Aria Health, formerly known as Frankford (Pa.) Hospital, will learn in July whether it has received an exception to build a new medical complex in Frankford, according to a phillyBurbs.com report.
The medical complex would include a 40,000 square-foot ambulatory surgery center, 375,000 square-foot hospital and 40,000 square-foot medical office building.
The Lower Makefield zoning hearing board will decide in July whether to grant the exception, which is needed because the property is zoned for office/research.
The board had previously granted the exception in 2009, but township supervisors and a citizens' group were able to convince a judge to overturn the decision.
If Aria receives the exception, it still needs to secure land development approval before proceeding with construction.
The medical complex would replace most of the hospital's Bucks County campus.
