University of Virginia Children's Hospital in Charlottesville has begun construction on the Battle Building, a $141.5 million facility that will house an expanded outpatient surgery center for patients of all ages, according to a Daily Progress report.
The six-floor building will house all outpatient services for the hospital, which are currently scattered across several locations. The outpatient surgery center will be housed in the building's basement. Hospital officials still need to raise $10.8 million to complete the project and are currently raising funds, according to the report.
