Houston-based Nobilis Health opened a new ASC in El Paso, Texas.
Here are five things to know:
1. The new facility includes two operating rooms and two procedure rooms. It will provide multispecialty services, including several offered by Nobilis' direct to consumer marketing brands.
2. With the new center, Nobilis expects to capture patients from the West Texas and New Mexico markets. The ASC will generate revenue through in-network commercial payer contracts.
3. Nobilis now includes 32 locations — 14 of which are ASCs — across Texas and Arizona. The company also partners with 36 facilities across the country to market nine independent brands as well as a unique patient acquisition strategy driven by proprietary, direct-to-consumer marketing technology.
4. Kenneth Efird, Nobilis president, expects the company to drive volume to its new center through its sales and marketing division. "The ASC will operate under in network contracts with major commercial payers and is a continuation of our stated strategy to grow our portfolio with in network volume and revenue."
5. Nobilis has made several moves toward growth in the past year, including the deal to acquire 50.1 percent ownership of Houston-based Elite Surgical Affiliates' three ASCs and one surgical hospital for $60 million in November.
