Virtua, based in Marlton, N.J., is building a new ambulatory care center in Vorhees, N.J., which features a surgical center for same-day surgery, according to the Virtua website for the project and a report from the Courier-Post.
The new ambulatory center is being built adjacent to a $463-million, eight-story replacement hospital. The 300,000-square foot outpatient center is expected to cost $120 million and would include the same-day surgery center, pediatric specialty center, cancer center, women's imaging center, diagnostic services, sleep center and physician offices, according to earlier reports.
The hospital is expected to open in May while Virtua expects the ambulatory care center to open in spring 2012.
