Fort Myers, Fla.-based Lee Health bought land in Estero, Fla., for its expansion plans, according to News-Press.

1. Initially, Lee Health proposed building an 80-bed hospital, but state officials rejected the plan. Naples, Fla.-based NCH Healthcare System was a stark opponent on Lee Health's hospital plans.
2. The health system plans to construct a heath and wellness village on the land, including an ASC, freestanding emergency room and a wellness center, among other services.
3. The Estero expansion project costs $140 million.
4. The health and wellness village will be 163,000 square feet.
