Iowa City Ambulatory Surgery Center Draws Physicians From Other Communities

Physicians from clinics without operating rooms frequently travel to Northgate, Iowa, to perform surgeries at the Iowa City Ambulatory Surgical Center, according to a Press-Citizen report.

Physicians with Eye Physicians and Surgeons have been going to Northgate to perform cataract, eyelid or muscle surgeries because their current facility does not have an operating room.

The town is seeing a migration of physicians into the area as new medical facilities —including a new campus for medical clinics at Northgate Corporate Park — give opportunities that other communities might not provide.
