HCA Healthcare grew its outpatient caseload by 3 percent year over year in the second quarter of 2019, going from 246,013 cases in the same period of 2018 to 253,441 cases.

1. The Nashville, Tenn.-based company now has 125 freestanding outpatient surgery centers. The company had 122 centers last year.
2. For the first half of 2019, the company's outpatient caseload increased 3.3 percent from 478,496 in 2018 to 494,287.
3. Outpatient revenues made up 39.1 percent of the company's patient revenues in the second quarter. For the first half of 2019, outpatient revenues made up 38.5 percent of patient revenues.
4. Same-facility admissions increased 2.1 percent year over year in the second quarter, and same-facility equivalent admissions increased 2.6 percent year over year.
5. For the quarter, HCA reported revenues of $12.6 billion, up from $11.5 billion in the same period last year.
