GI Alliance continues to expand, surgery center reopens after fire & more — 11 ASC industry notes

Here are 11 updates on ASC companies and industry-relevant companies to note:

Dallas-based GI Alliance continued its year-end acquisition spree, acquiring Amarillo (Texas) Endoscopy Center.

SUNY Downstate Bay Ridge Ambulatory Surgery Center reopened Nov. 18, more than a year after a September 2018 fire caused it to close.

The Ohio State University's Wexner Medical Center in Columbus is gearing up to buy an outpatient medical building for $43 million.

Atlanta-based Grady Health System is spending $231.3 million to build a medical office building with an ASC.

Springfield, Mass.-based Pioneer Valley Surgicenter is planning a partial transfer of ownership. Nashville, Tenn.-based AmSurg is partnering with Springfield-based Baystate Medical Center to purchase partial ownership in the ASC.

The Center for Advanced Healthcare at Brownwood will feature an ASC and more than 25 outpatient specialties.

Houston ASC in Georgia submitted a letter of intent to the Georgia Department of Community Health for a multispecialty ASC.

Atlanta-based Morehouse School of Medicine plans to establish a multispecialty ASC, according to a letter of intent filed Oct. 27.

ASC management company Regent Surgical Health entered into a joint venture with physician partners at an ASC in Anchorage, Alaska.

CRH Medical acquired a majority ownership stake in Winston-Salem, N.C.-based Triad Sedation, building on a previous partnership with the practice.
