Schenectady, N.Y.-based Ellis Medicine abandoned plans to build an ASC on 11 acres of land in Clifton Park, N.J., but it's still planning future expansion at the property, according to The Daily Gazette.
Ellis Medicine may collaborate with an entity such as a physician group to develop the site, which houses a medical center that opened in 2012.
"That site has been successful," Ellis Medicine President and CEO Paul Milton told The Daily Gazette. "Inside that building, we may do some reconfiguration and expansion. Primary care is one of the things we'll stay focused on in that community."
Ellis Medicine said it dropped the ASC project — which had been two years in the making — because it determined that market conditions had changed.
