DuPage Medical Group buys majority stake in Naperville Surgical Center for $1.7M: 5 key notes

DuPage Medical Group plans to acquire majority ownership in a Naperville, Ill.-based ambulatory surgery center, according to a Chicago Tribune report.

Here are five key notes:

1. DMG plans to purchase majority ownership in Naperville Surgical Centre for $1.7 million. The surgery center is currently 51 percent physician-owned and a subsidiary of Advocate Healthcare, which owned 49 percent of the center.

2. Forty-four physicians owned the surgery center, which includes four operating rooms.

3. DMG filed the acquisition plans with the state health planning board this month after looking for investors for expansion last year. Boston-based Summit Partners joined with DMG to form DMG Practice Management Solutions last year.

4. DMG Practice Management Solutions purchases a 75 percent stake in the center's operations. Advocate will own 12.25 percent of the center and purchase the building.

5. Surgical Care Affiliates plans to purchase the remaining 12.75 percent of the surgery center for $235,000, according to the report.
