Addison, Texas-based United Surgical Partners International acquired ownership stakes in Jacksonville, Fla.-based Borland Groover's Jacksonville Center for Endoscopy in Southside, Fla., and Jacksonville Center for Endoscopy in Riverside, Fla.
Here's what you should know:
1. The acquired centers were established in 1998. As a result of the partnership, both companies will manage the endoscopy centers.
2. Borland Groover is one of the largest gastroenterology practices in the nation. Borland Groover has 17 northeast Florida-based offices.
3. Borland Groover CEO Kyle Etzkorn, MD, said, "The partnership with USPI offers many opportunities to enhance healthcare delivery for our patients. Our shared commitment to providing safe, efficient, patient-centered care will further enable us to improve the lives of those we serve."
4. USPI President Brett Brodnax praised Jacksonville Center for Endoscopy's physicians, saying, "We are honored to partner with such a reputable and prominent gastroenterology group, and we look forward to building upon this new relationship."
