St. Edward Mercy Health System in Fort Smith, Ark., has acquired River Valley Musculoskeletal Center (RVMC), also in Fort Smith, which includes a 23,000-square-foot ambulatory surgery center, according to a report from The City Wire (Fort Smith Region) and other reports.
In addition to the surgery center, which features eight operating rooms and an interventional pain clinic, St. Edward acquires RVMC's 50,000 square-foot medical office building which includes a rehabilitation clinic and imaging services.
Discussions about the acquisition began in the summer, according to a report from the Times Record Online.
RVMC will change its name to Mercy Clinic River Valley Musculoskeletal Center. Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.
