AmSurg has made bold moves to expand its business within the past year, and now the company is relocating its operations to a larger location in Sunrise, Fla., according to a South Florida Business Journal report.
The move is driven by AmSurg's recent acquisition of Sheridan Healthcare, based in Sunrise. AmSurg signed a lease on 222,000-square-foot location. The company intends to move 167,000 square feet of its operations to the new location by September 2016. The company will then expand the location by 55,000 square feet by the following year, according to the report.
AmSurg will pay $1.7 million in rent from Sept. 1, 2016 to April 30, 2017, according to the report. The location's base rent will then become $3.5 million, increasing 2.7 percent each year after Aug. 31, 2018, according to the report. The lease expires Feb. 28, 2029.
The plans for the company's expanded operations come on the heels of the recent acquisition of radiology services group Radisphere. Radisphere will become part of AmSurg's physicians services division Sheridan.
