Aiello Eye Institute, based in Arizona, has announced plans to build and ambulatory surgery center next to one of its two Yuma locations. Ophthalmologist Patrick Aiello, MD, heads the Aiello Eye Institute practice.
La Peer Health Systems, Beverly Hills, Calif.-based network of outpatient surgery centers, has expanded with the launch of its Jaw Surgery Center of Excellence. Mark Yafai, DDS, MD, a maxillofacial and oral surgeon, will serve as the new department's medical director.
Physician Partners of America has opened the Precinct Line Ambulatory Surgery Center in Hurst, Texas. The new center is a part of the company's strategic plan to launch centers in select states, including Texas.
The Illinois Health Facilities and Services Review Board granted Naser Rustom, MD, approval for the construction of an outpatient surgery center in Orland Park. Dr. Rustom's initial proposal for the center focused on catering to the Islamic faith, but he reworked the proposal to drop all references to Islamic law after the board issued a preliminary denial.
