5 thoughts on million dollar sports medicine and athletic training facility proposal for Charlotte, Mich.

Charlotte, Mich. could be home to a new million dollar sports medicine and athletic training facility if a proposal by Capital Area Partnership moves forward.

Here are five thoughts on the proposal:

1. The investor group is hoping to develop a series of buildings on the property of a former plastic manufacturer.

2. A 29,570 square-foot building that would serve as a sports medicine and athletic training facility. Focusing on youth football, baseball and basketball is set for a portion of the property.

2. A 6,400 square-foot office to house physicians, physical therapist, a pharmacy and possibly a day care would be constructed for the other half of the property.

4. The investor firm estimates it would take up to five years to redevelop the land for commercial use, and the firm is still finalizing a purchase agreement for the property.

5. Jim Keyton, a spokesman for the firm, said several "entities" have already committed to occupy space in the proposed medical offices.
