Here are 10 surgery centers that are currently under construction.
1. Ground has been broken for a new surgery center in Bridgeport, Ohio, to house the Compassionate Care Center for Surgical Excellence.
2. Construction has begun on a new $39 million two-story facility that will house a surgery center and emergency department for Sonoma (Calif.) Valley Hospital.
3. The first phase of construction is complete for the Wilford Hall Ambulatory Surgical Center in San Antonio on Lackland Air Force Base, which will eventually have four wings and more than 40 outpatient clinics.
4. Construction on a new hospital project as a replacement facility for Good Samaritan Regional Health, a St. Mary's Good Samaritan facility, that includes a surgery center has begun construction and is making progress.
5. A new surgery center for East Texas Medical Center-Crockett is now under development with a completion date set for November.

8. Construction began earlier this year on a new ambulatory care facility, Desert Multi-Service Ambulatory Care Center, which will house a surgery center in Irvine, Calif., and is scheduled for completion in 2014.
9. Hudson (S.D) Regional Medical Center broke ground earlier this year on a new Huron clinic that will include a surgery center, with estimated costs being $6.1 million and completion date of April 2013.
10. Trinity Health Clinic in Minot, N.D., is building a new surgery center as part of a facility in Williston, N.D., with an estimated opening date of October 2012.
