The House bill to repeal the medical device tax has 228 co-sponsors but has failed to get the support of key members of the Medical Technology Caucus, which was formed to support the medical technology industry, according to a MassDevice report.
Of the 66 caucus members, 25 have yet to sign on as co-sponsors of Rep. Erik Paulsen's (R-Minn.) bill. Two Republicans, House Majority Leader Eric Cantor (R-Va.) and Rep. David Dreier (R-Calif.), have not yet signed. An official from Rep. Cantor's office told MassDevice he does not support the tax but does not co-sponsor bills.
