Siegfried Holding has acquired Alliance Medical Products, according to a news release (pdf).
The Siegfried Group is active worldwide in the field of life sciences, while Alliance Medical Products, which is based in Irvine, Calif., provides sterile filling services for medications.
The acquisition gives Siegfried an entry into the custom market for sterile filling services.
"Siegfried is one of the few companies with capabilities in both pharmaceutical and chemical manufacturing," said Dr. Rudolf Hanko, Siegfried CEO, in the release. "Our acquisition of Alliance Medical Products expands our exceptional CMO platform into the sterile filling market, a particularly attractive segment. Integrating AMP into the Siegfried Group is an asset for both companies."
The purchase price consists of a cash payment in the amount of $58 million and contingent earn-out consideration subject to Alliance Medical Products meeting defined profitability goals for the fiscal year ended Dec. 31, 2013.
Siegfried Holding is headquartered in Zofingen, Switzerland.
