San Diego-based Qualcomm announced the creation of a new subsidiary called Qualcomm Life, which will focus on wireless solutions for the medical devices market, and is backed by a venture capital investment fund worth $100 million, according to company news release.
The subsidy will operate the business previously known as Qualcomm Wireless Health. Current offerings include the 2net Platform and Hub, which uses cloud-based technology to interconnect wireless medical devices and to make biometrics information easily accessible.
