Profitability of Medical Device Companies Hurt by 2010 Healthcare Reform

A new IBISWorld report found the profitability of medical device companies may suffer as a result of the 2010 Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, according to a Forbes report.

However, the revenue of medical device companies is expected to increase because of an increase in insured patients. IBISWorld predicts revenue will increase by 7.4 percent in 2012 and reach $82.1 billion by 2016 with an average annual growth rate of 6.4 percent.
