Healthmark Industries Co., which develops products for the sterilization, decontamination, storage and security of surgical instruments and other medical devices and accessories, has announced the availability of the RoboticArmCheck, which can help organizations confirm the proper cleaning of surgical robotic arms.
To use the RoboticArmCheck, organizations sample the inside of the robotic arm with a moistened swab and expose the swab to a simple reagent test, according to a news release. A color change to green/blue indicates that blood remained in the lumen of the instrument, requiring re-cleaning. No color change indicates the instrument is clean and is ready for the next step in reprocessing.
Results are available in less than 30 seconds.
